VAQUERA was co-founded by Patric DiCaprio, Bryn Taubensee and Claire Sully in 2013. Since then, they have been committed to bringing diverse brands into the industry. VAQUERA means "cowgirl" in Spanish, and just like the name's spirit, they want to "call everyone and start a campaign."
The brand redefines luxury fashion through the narrative of design to create what is missing from the show; strengthens the visual and self-expression of clothing rather than letting business and sales replace the core value of the brand. Every season, the designers will come up with a concept and start a conversation with fashion. The brand feels that people are uniformly boring to dress uniformly, and is eager to see everyone wearing cool clothes to express themselves on the street.
For Fall/Winter 19, the Vaquera designers examined domesticity and the void. They focused on the lavishness of decor and the ways in which our homes can inform the way we dress. What stories hide in a dust ruffle? How do we cover our feeling of shame or inadequacy with possessions? The trio, true to form, explored the facets of their inspiration with satire and genuine interest in the grotesque gaud that exists in extravagant homes.
There is no such thing as a fashion brand in New York. Vaquera, aside from the interesting design style and concept, its designers are composed of four people, and the only thing they have in common is "hate fashion".The founder of Vaquera, Patric DiCaprio, was a former stylist. He founded the brand in 2013 and now joins three other designers, Bryn Taubensee, David Moses, and Claire Sully. .The mix and cross of subcultures is your interpretation of the Vaquera brand. It is more like an "underground brand", which reflects those unsightly phenomena in the society, such as the fast pollution that brings huge pollution to the environment. The "fashion style" uses the fashion system to express the ideological antagonism. The strange and willful appearance is a deeper reflection on society.
